Lesson Plan Reflection
Before presenting my lesson, I was very nervous about having myself videotaped. It has been something that I have thus far avoided doing. Once I began the presentation of the lesson, I forgot about the camera and was not nervous any longer. It took me a very long time to watch the video of myself. After I watched it, I was satisfied with my voice and how the lesson went. The experience made me a little more open to recording my lectures for my students. I am not as apprehensive about the idea of being recorded after this experience.
I did learn from watching myself that I walk around a lot! In my normal classroom I try to keep mobile so that students feel a connection with me even if they are sitting in the back of the room. It also makes it easier for students to ask questions and for me to evaluate how they are doing on a certain task. If I am able to create a classroom one day, it will not have a “front”. The worse part of my lesson presentation was that I looked at my notes too much. This was probably because I was nervous about losing my place since I had never done this lesson before. Usually, I know my lessons very well from having done them so many times, so I don’t have to refer to any notes.
Hello, Sophia!
ReplyDeleteI could not watch your video of the presentation. There is an error when your video tries to load.
Hi Sophia,
ReplyDeleteI thought you did a great job! I liked that you walked around the classroom and actively interacted with all participants. I think that is a good way to engage the audience as well as make yourself available for any questions.
You did refer to your notes but I don't think that distracted from your presentation. You were well prepared, organized and I felt that the presentation flowed well. I think your experience in the classroom showed :-) Good job!
